WHO WE ARE

We are united by a belief that real and lasting change occurs when

We are a group of like-minded funders working together to end injustice by finding and supporting organizations that equip people (survivors) to combat the causes of injustice they survived.

Our Principles

We believe
  1. Investing in survivors provides a high return on philanthropic capital because survivors have
    • unique insight into the injustice they survived,
    • tenacious motivation to combat the causes of what they survived, and
    • potential to become powerful changemakers in their communities and the world;
  2. We are most effective when focused on locally-led initiatives that provide survivors/organizations the resources they need to bring about long-term justice in their communities or countries;
  1. That the charities we support are not just beneficiaries but also partners in creating survivor-driven change.
  2. That patience is critical because real change can take many years;
  3. By collaborating as donors we are leveraging our giving most wisely and impactfully by together tracking the effectiveness of our philanthropy.

  • Opportunity to leverage your dollars by partnering with other funders who care about the same issue – double or even triple the impact of your funding
  • New ideas about innovative funding strategies for solutions to the problems you want to solve

  • One in-person gathering each year to learn from leading experts in the field and exchange ideas and learnings about effective advocacy and funding for survivor-driven change.
  • Listserv to exchange ideas and new leads on a regular basis between meetings
  • Contribute each year ($2,500 per year) to support the functioning of the giving circle
  • Nominate potential new members as frequently as possible to add to our growing group of like-minded donors
